Matchtech win £12m contract with Fleet Support

Matchtech Group, the largest technical recruitment agency in the South, has been awarded the contract to supply temporary and permanent staff to Fleet Support Limited (FSL) at the Portsmouth Naval base. The contract, estimated to be worth £12m, will run for three years.
FSL are another key marine client including VT Shipbuilding and DML, to enter into working partnerships with Matchtech as the centralised recruitment provider. With their extensive knowledge of the market, Matchtech are able to provide innovative recruitment solutions that reduce administration, improve human resource efficiency and deliver significant cost savings.
Adrian Gunn, Business Development Director for Matchtech Group PLC said, "This is another important contract win for Matchtech. Through our existing involvement and proven processes with the VT Group and Flagship Training we have developed a deep understanding of the specific needs of the Portsmouth Naval Base and FSL will benefit from this knowledge.
Our services are going from strength to strength and clients like FSL recognise the improvements in efficiency we are able to bring them. Our Project Managers, along with key personnel from FSL, will now jointly develop procedures to make implementation of the contract a smooth and welcome transition for everyone."
Matchtech will manage second tier recruitment companies, in order to provide a single point of contact for all of FSL’s recruitment. As one of the countries leading ship-repair and logistics companies, FSL require skilled marine workers for their operations along with many support and ancilliary staff. Matchtech has the experience and resources to fill all FSL’s posts quickly and reliably.
Ian Miles, Procurement Executive for FSL said, "Following an extensive review of the agency provisions across the business, we are pleased to appoint Matchtech as our ‘one-stop-shop’ provider. As Matchtech currently provides similar services for two of our sister and group companies we will be exploiting and exploring the potential synergies that this new relationship provides.
We regard the contract as a living document, which both ourselves and Matchtech will continually review to ensure it will always reflect and meet the business needs."
Matchtech recently became one of the few recruitment companies to be awarded triple accreditation to ISO 14001:1996 for environmental management within the workplace and OHSAS 18001:1999 for health and safety and ISO 9001:2000 for quality management. They are one of the largest independent recruitment companies in the UK and with a turnover of £95m, one of the biggest recruitment companies based in the South.
