Matchtech Group, one of the UK's largest recruitment companies, is proud to have sponsored the City of Southampton Swimming Club's most prestigious annual meet, the James Moreno Open 2007.

The City of Southampton Swimming Club was established in 1963 and has been awarded SWIM 21 Silver accreditation. There are many benefits of being accredited through the Swim 21 scheme but the main one is that it gives clubs a clear focus on how to move forward and help develop their athletes' skills further.

The club is also affiliated to the Amateur Swimming Association and competes in Galas and Open Meets, with swimmers qualifying for County, District, National Age Groups and Olympic Trials.

The Matchtech-sponsored James Moreno Open Meet was held at The Quays Swimming Complex in Southampton on Sunday 28th October. The swimming club's head coach Dave Terry commented that, "The competition was probably the best level of competition that we have ever staged at The Quays. Many championship records were broken by the 257 swimmers from 22 clubs that participated. Looking at the results I can see that the club's swimmers' performances yesterday were really quite remarkable, with almost every swimmer achieving life time best times."

"I am really pleased that such a successful local company as Matchtech has been good enough to provide sponsorship for this meet. We very much hope to continue our association with Matchtech in the future."

Adrian Gunn, Managing Director of Matchtech said, "Matchtech is very proud to sponsor the City of Southampton Swimming Club in this way. We have several employees who are linked to the club and when we were approached for help with the James Moreno Meet we were only too pleased to assist."
