Matchtech Marathons for Charity

This November, two staff members of Matchtech Group, Matt Wragg and Richard Cookson, will be taking part in the demanding New York Marathon in aid of their chosen charities.
Matt Wragg will be running for Friends of PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit) based at Southampton General Hospital. Speaking of his chosen Charity Matt said "Many of my friends and their families have been directly helped by some of the amazing work of all the people at PICU. It's great to be doing something for the charity in return."
PICU is renowned as a regional centre of excellence in children's Intensive Care. One of the best, modern and most successful units of its kind in the UK, PICU treats approximately 700 critically ill and injured children each year, from babies to children up to the age of seventeen years.
Matt adds "I would like to thank all those who have been kind enough to sponsor me already. I've been blown away by the response so far and with such a good cause I'd like to raise as much money as possible".
Following a successful charity cycle ride around Cuba last year, Matchtech's Richard Cookson has also set the New York Marathon as his target.
Richard will be running on behalf of Action Medical Research, a charity dedicated to building a healthier future for all. Among others, Action Medical Research has played a crucial role in: developing the UK polio vaccine, ultrasound scanning for use during pregnancy and hip replacement surgery.
Speaking of his latest challenge Richard adds "This is a great cause to be running for and as I will no doubt take a very long time to complete the marathon, you will certainly be getting value for your charitable donations!"
Everyone at Matchtech wishes them both luck and support as they prepare for the New York Marathon.
