Matchtech take part in PICU Golf Day
Matchtech Group, the largest recruitment company in the South, took part in a major charity golf event recently at the South Winchester Golf Club to help raise crucial funds for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Southampton General Hospital. Sponsored by HBG, the event raised £4,300.
Of the 26 teams competing, Matchtech made up 14 by inviting many of their clients to join them. Their entry included teams from VT Group PLC, Devonport Management Ltd and Flagship Training Ltd amongst others.
The winning team (pictured) included Matt Wragg (Matchtech) and his clients from Selex- Mike Baker, Mark Helsby and Ken Fraser In addition to supplying 14 teams of customers for the event, Matchtech donated various prizes including a portable DVD player and an Ipod shuffle.
Matchtech are the main sponsors of Southampton General Hospital's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). In addition to sponsorship of the unit, Matchtech regularly organises fundraising activities on PICU’s behalf. Last year it attended the same event at South Winchester Golf Club (with 14 teams again) and it also held its own golf day raising £600 of additional funds.
PICU Southampton Hospital is a regional centre of excellence in children's Intensive Care. One of the best, modern and most successful Unit of it's kind in the UK, PICU treats approximately 700 critically ill and injured children each year, from babies up to 17 years old.
