Matchtech's Cash Boost

The newest sponsor of the Plymouth Half Marathon has donated about £2,000 to help the event run smoothly.

Recruitment agency Matchtech, DML's main staff provider, has joined this year's sponsorship team.

The Hampshire-based company has three dedicated staff at Devonport: Lyndsey Reynolds, Steve Wilding and Paul White.

Race director Nigel Rowe said: "We're delighted to secure the sponsorship agreement with Matchtech for this year's Plymouth Half Marathon. It helps to secure the event and hopefully will show them the value of being associated with it for future years."

Matchtech spokesperson Martin Grady explained that the company had been inspired to get involved by the amount of money the event raised for charity. He said: "Matchtech Group Plc is very pleased to sponsor this event and help support St Luke's Hospice in Plymouth. The work they do in caring for people suffering with incurable illnesses such as cancer touches the lives of thousands of people. The reach of the Hospice is amazing, with over 700 patients and hundreds of their loved ones throughout the South West of Devon and the South East of Cornwall benefiting from its support each year. It's a wonderful cause and the Plymouth Half Marathon 2006 is a great way to raise more funds. As the recruitment service provider to DML, Matchtech Group Plc is proud to stand alongside them in support of St Luke's and all the other local charities."
