EAA Information for Employers
|
|
Under the EAA regulations, Matchtech is required to confirm the identity of the personnel we provide to you and we do this by obtaining documentation from our candidates. We will also ask for confirmation of mandatory training or qualifications that you request for specific positions you are looking to fill.
We are now obliged to request information from our clients with regard to potential Health & Safety risks, as well as details of any steps that are being taken to prevent and control such risks. Our obligation is to pass this information to candidates, so we have devised a Health & Safety questionnaire that can be filled out by our clients and sent to candidates prior to the commencement of employment.
There have also been some changes in the legislation concerning 'temporary to permanent' fees. Under the new regulations, once a client informs the agency that they would like a temporary contractor to take on a permanent role, the agency is required to offer the client an option of an 'extended period of hire' as an alternative to paying a fee. This issue is covered thoroughly in Matchtech's employers resources
Also under the regulations, Limited Company contractors are permitted to 'opt-out' of the scope of the regulations, as they may feel the greater legislative protection contradicts their financial position. It is their right to sign an opt-out form, so that they are not covered by the regulations. Matchtech will inform its clients if a candidate chooses this option.
