Lewmar's name is the most recognised in control focused boating equipment. The company was originally founded in Emsworth Hampshire during the 1950's. Over the years Lewmar Marine expanded rapidly and globally, establishing offices in the US, Sweden , France, Holland, Australia, Italy, Spain and Finland. Lewmar's products are now distributed and sold in over 50 countries via a network of agents and distributors. Lewmar's product range is diverse and has grown significantly over the years. this has enabled them to provide leading boat and yacht builders/owners with a complete package of products from a single source. The product range encompasses steering and anchoring systems. winches, hatches, bow thrusters, portlights, windlasses and hydraulics.

Navtec another arm of Lewmar's business, are specialists in custom marine projects with a particular focus on UK sourced rigging products and architectural rigging.

Working in Partnership
Matchtech has had a trading relationship with Lewmar since 2002 when we first supplied staff on a contingency basis. We were invited to present our full range of services to Lewmar's Production team in 2003 and this resulted in our joining Lewmar's Preferred Supplier List. Matchtech's understanding of the marine market place , our strength in supplying quality production and skilled trades staff within stringent time scales and the introduction of value added services developed the partnership further. Late in 2004 Lewmar decided that it wanted to consolidate its recruitment service provider supplier base. Lewmar wished to achieve cost savings, standardise pay and charge rates, consolidate invoicing and have only one point of contact for all their recruitment needs. Matchtech has demonstrated its ability to fulfil Lewmar's objectives and provide them with many more additional benefits. A Master Vendor agreement was agreed in 2005 and was re-signed in 2006.
