About Area 12
CarillionWSP work on behalf of the Highways Agency as Managing Agent Contractor for Area 12. This area encompasses the motorways and trunk roads of Yorkshire and peripheral areas from Skipton to Kingston-upon-Hull, Grimsby to Woodall and Scarborough to Ashton-under-Lyme.

CarillionWSP in Area 12 currently employs over 450 staff, this is a mixture of office based staff and operatives working in 12 different locations across the network.

Because of their dedicated and diverse workforce they can ensure that CarillionWSP operate on the network 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Their staff are the ambassadors of the company with varying levels of experience and access to both parent companies means that staff receive first class training, support and are empowered to make important decisions which affect 100,000's people who use the motorway network every day.

In Area 12 there are 671km of motorway, 590km of trunk roads and 1297 structures, such as bridges and gantries that CarillionWSP maintain on behalf of the client. This equates to around 550 improvement and renewal schemes each year.
