Help — Login Problems & 'Action Not Allowed'

If you have any of the following problems, please follow the instructions in the 'Changing Your Browser's Settings' section:

  • The browser loses the data you enter into forms and returns a empty form with errors
  • Searches return no results, or when clicking the 'Next' page in the results, the same page is returned
  • Updates made to your personal data or other settings do not show on your Personal Homepage
  • You keep getting the "Action Not Allowed" page even though you are already logged in

Changing Your Browser's Settings

How to change your browser's cookie and the cache settings...

This site requires that your browser accepts cookies. These are small pieces of data held on your computer that are sent to our web server whenever you access an associated web page. Without cookies our web Server is unable to track you between pages and will not be able to send you personalised pages.

Internet Explorer or AOL

  1. Go to the Internet Options... menu option located in either the Edit or Tools menu (depending on the version of browser)
  2. In the General tab (first page of options screen) choose Settings... in the Temporary Internet Files section
  3. Make sure Every visit to the page is selected at the top then click OK
  4. Your browser's cache settings are now configured. For the cookie settings, please continue
  5. Go to the Privacy Tab (usually 3rd along), click Edit...then in the Web Sites section.
  6. Enter www.matchtech.com in the Address of Web site: text box and click the Allow button next to it
  7. Save your settings by clicking OK in each window until the options window closes
  8. In order for these changes to take effect, please close all open browser windows and then open a brand new one. Go to the www.matchtech.com website and you should find the site working as normal now

Firefox

  1. Click the Options... menu item located in the Tools menu
  2. Click the Privacy section (on the left), then open up the Cookies section in the right hand pane
  3. You have two choices, depending on your security requirements:
    • If you are happy to accept cookies from all web sites then make sure the Enable Cookies option is checked while the sub items are cleared
    • If you wish to add permission only for the Matchtech website to use cookies:
      1. Click the Exceptions... button
      2. Enter www.matchtech.com in the Address of Web site: text box and click the Allow button next to it
  4. Save your settings by clicking OK in each window until the options window closes
  5. In order for these changes to take effect, please close all open browser windows and then open a brand new one. Go to the www.matchtech.com website and you should find the site working as normal now

Netscape 6, 7 or Mozilla

  1. Go to the Preferences... menu option located in the Edit menu
  2. Click the Advanced section (near bottom left), then Cache in the right hand pane
  3. Make sure Every time I view the page is selected in the Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network area
  4. Your browser's cache settings are now configured. For the cookie settings, please continue
  5. Go to the Privacy & Security section, click Enable all cookies
  6. Save your settings by clicking OK in each window until the options window closes
  7. In order for these changes to take effect, please close all open browser windows and then open a brand new one. Go to the www.matchtech.com website and you should find the site working as normal now

Opera

  1. Go to the Preferences... menu option located in either the File or Tools menu
  2. Click History and cache near bottom left
  3. Make sure Always is selected in the Check documents drop down on the right
  4. Your browser's cache settings are now configured. For the cookie settings, please continue
  5. Go to the Privacy section on the left, under the History and cache option used earlier
  6. Make sure Enable cookies is checked and Accept all cookies is selected next to Normal cookies
  7. Save your settings by clicking OK in each window until the options window closes
  8. In order for these changes to take effect, please close all open browser windows and then open a brand new one. Go to the www.matchtech.com website and you should find the site working as normal now
