Introduction:
My client plays a crucial role in the defence of the United Kingdom, by providing and maintaining the warheads for the country’s nuclear deterrent. They currently have a requirement for an Electrical Design Engineer to work on the new laser project.
Job Specification:
Job/Role Purpose:
-To take responsibility for the design and construction of Electrical Systems For the Laser Facility.
-Operate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team delivering Electrical sub-systems of the Laser Facility
-System commissioning.
Key Accountabilities:
-To be responsible for the design, verification, installation and commissioning of Equipment for the Laser System.
-To assist in the project management of tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
-Take responsibility for the design, construction and commissioning of Hardware for Electrical Systems.
-Work with stakeholders to develop system requirements.
-Ensure compliance with international regulations and safety standards.
-Identifying and managing design interfaces.
-Identifying and managing resources that are required to undertake tasks.
-Developing designs that meet given specified requirements.
-Managing the design processes.
-Manage prototyping projects from functional specification to implementation and test.
-Work with design engineers and suppliers to ensure that designs are standardised.
-To assist in the administration of the department such as maintenance of engineering records.
-Working in a team with other groups at the company and external suppliers.
-Reporting progress and resource usage against the Project Schedule and Cost Model.
-To provide Electrical and Electronic support to operations.
-Controlling and disseminating task related information.
-To understand and apply the Company’s Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards.
-To safeguard company information and assets in my care and report any suspected or actual breaches to my line manager and local security liaison officer.
-To ensure electrical equipment meets relevant legal requirements.
Qualifications:
-Degree or HND or HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (may include recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent).
-Experience working as an electrical engineer.
Knowledge:
-Electrical/electronic circuit design.
-EMC Standards.
