Introduction:

A UK based environmental consultancy have a current requirement for a Graduate Flood Risk Consultant / Hydrologist.

Job Specification:

This is an brilliant opportunity to develop your career working as part of one of the largest teams of water specialists in UK consultancy. Your work will be varied and challenging and will include the technical delivery of projects to a wide range of clients. Main technical areas will be flood risk assessment, drainage, water resources planning, catchment hydrology and hydrological EIA.

The chosen candidate will be a BSc graduate in a relevant subject with an engineering or science from a UK university at 2:1 grade or above. An MSc Hydrology or Water Resources would be advantageous. You will be numerate and well organised, able to analyse and interpret water resources and hydrological data. Experience in drainage design and/ or hydrology would be desirable including standard hydrological tools and analytical methods.

The chosen candidate will have demonstrable experience of training in flood management, river modelling, urban drainage, water resources planning and catchment hydrology. Experience in the use of 1D and 2D hydraulic models and other hydrological software such as FEH/ FSR/ HYSIM desirable but not essential.

Candidates should be good teamworkers, numerate, a good communicator, effective report writer. A full UK driving licence is beneficial.
