Introduction:

A major engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior/Principal Hydrologist

Job Specification:

An excellent opening is available for a Senior or Principal level Hydrologist.

You will work as a part of a growing and dynamic team on a wide variety of hydrology, hydro-ecology and multi-disciplinary projects including significant national/regional level studies for water companies, developers, local authorities, industrial clients and central government organisations.

You will be responsible for technical management of the hydrological aspects of the projects and where required, will act as Project Manager, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality and be client facing. You will also contribute to management of a business unit including staff management and development, financial monitoring and business development.

The successful candidate will have a relevant first degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a Water related subject. Candidates with a Masters qualification is preferred. Applicants who are Chartered with a relevant professional institution (e.g. MCIWEM) or working towards Chartership will be strongly considered.

Our client is looking for a candidate with detailed hands on technical involvement in significant hydrology projects, with experience of relevant modelling packages. Involvement in Water Resources, Water Framework Directive, Integrated River Basin Management or Flood Studies (strategic or site specific) related projects is of particular interest.

This role offers a company car/car allowance (for principal level) depending on experience, plus non-contributory pension and flexible working hours.
