Important: UK based mechanical building services design experience

Introduction:

Our client, a specialist building services and sustainability design consultancy has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to work within existing Building Services team in Manchester.

Job Specification:

Applicants would ideally be degree qualified and have attained or be working towards chartered engineer status and should be able to demonstrate relevant skills and experience in a similar role.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

+ Provide input on design strategy and conceptual design relative to mechanical installations.

+ Undertake design calculations relevant to the design of mechanical installations within major building projects.

+ Design mechanical installations including the production of design drawings, diagrams and schematics along with project specifications and schedules.

+ Design mechanical installations to meet all existing, relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and other relevant standards.

+ Design mechanical installations to meet requirements for energy efficiency and low carbon requirements.

+ Work as part of a team to meet project brief and programme requirements.

+ Lead an M&E team in the co-ordination and delivery of individual projects, including attendance at meetings, internal programming, project reviews, etc.

+ Manage client and design team relationships. Understand client needs and interpret and confirm the project brief.

+ Provide assistance and support to other members of the engineering team within the office. Undertake constructive peer reviews of other designers projects.

+ Demonstrate a wide knowledge and relevant project experience of mechanical systems across a range of sectors.

+ Have an understanding of electrical engineering systems and the ability to report on both disciplines during meetings, etc.

Qualifications:
>?? BEng, BSc, MEng or MSc in relevant engineering subject, e.g. Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Demonstratable project management skills.
>?? Software skills including: IES, Hevacomp, Barbour Index, Specification Expert, Microsoft Office.

Experience:
Candidates for this position would be expected to demonstrate suitable experience in a similar role.

Experience in CAD drafting systems, e.g. AutoCAD

Experience in Modelling software, e.g. IES
