Important: Public Sector Procurement Professional, ideally with purchasing experience of Minor Works, FM or Construction and man management experience.
Introduction:
A Central Government organisation is looking to fill a Senior Buyer post on contract. You will have purchased within the Public Sector and ideally within the commodities of Construction/FM/Minor Works. You will also have man management experience.

- Lead on the implementation of category strategies where appropriate.
- Constantly explore, develop and implement new ways of reducing costs and improving outputs
- Let and manage Strategic contracts and framework agreements
-Strategically plan and manage the development and delivery of more complex, high risk projects ensuring that an associated risk / benefits analysis is incorporated and managed.
- Provide professional advice to customers on procurement policy, best practice and contractual issues in accordance with current guidelines.
- Liaise with Procurement Service Units to ensure robust management of strategic contracts at Area level.
- Manage and develop staff as appropriate to meet the needs of the unit.
