Introduction:
Our client are a global market leader in the defence aviation markets and have the requirement for a Bid Manager.
Job Specification:
Our client is a market leader in on-aircraft maintenance for large military platforms. They also specialise in air warfare training, aerial surveillance, flight trials & specialist aircraft modification. This exciting company is currently experiencing increased growth within its Commercial division and have the requirement for an experienced Bid Manager.
Ideally you will have gained experience of large complex bids within the defence market. Experience within the avionics market would be of distinct advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Business Development with opportunity qualification
- Support BD in the development of capture strategies & win themes prior to the 1B review
- Take ownership of the Bid Management Plan and lead the capture process subsequently
- Prepare for and manage post 1B internal review activities
- Oversee the preparation and submission of successful proposals
- Develop, manage and report bid budgets
- Provide post contract award liaison and handover to the Project Manager
- Effectively implement the companies LCM and win business process’
- Lead and motivate the bid team formed from within a ‘Matrix’ organisation
- Train bid / proposal personnel in ‘Best Practice’
- Build collaborative working relationships with internal & external stakeholders
- Forecast / manage department forward load
- Track and report all campaigns progress
- Measure and report department performance (bid / win-lose / value / cost)
- Design and manage departments “continual improvement” process
- Own lessons learnt process
