Introduction:
We require Mechanical Fitters for a contract located in Plymouth
Job Specification:
You will work up to 50 hours per week on either HMS Albion or HMS Vigilant.
You will be required to:-
- Undertake the installation, repair, maintenance and manufacture of ship or submarine equipment.
- Read drawings, interpret work instructions and perform the work to time, cost and quality.
- To be able to carry out surveys and pre-refit examinations of equipment, machinery and structures / fittings.
- Set to work by the use of test equipment.
- Carry out functional testing.
- Be competent to use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role of mechanical fitter.
- Cleaning up of own work arisings
- Slinging duties as required
- Any other task within the individual’s competence as directed by the Company
Candidates require MOD security clearance, either BC or SC level.
Rates of pay are as follows:
Non-Local Contractors:
£9.80 PAYE per hour plus £1.00 per hour holiday credit
£12.18 Ltd per hour
Local Contractors:
£8.66 PAYE per hour plus £0.88 per hour holiday credit
£10.76 Ltd per hour
