Introduction:
We are seeking a Head of Supply Chain, to be based in our Gloucestershire offices, to provide leadership and tactical direction to our Procurement team.
Job Specification:
Key Result Areas
> Management of the Procurement team, including recruitment, performance management and responsibility for the Safety & Health of all staff. Provide direction and guidance, and promote development of knowledge and relevant skills within the Team.
> Budgetary responsibility and accountability of the procurement function.
> To manage the procurement process including compliance with all relevant EU Procurement Legislation and customers’ contractual obligations.
> Ensure all internal processes and tools are adequately documented and supported.
> Ensure the successful implementation of Group and business unit initiatives impacting procurement (e.g. IT, Procurement & Financial).
> Secure and manage appropriate relationships with suppliers and internal customers by developing a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
> Facilitate forging of strategic partnerships and alliances with key suppliers through organisation of Partnering Workshops; develop joint Risk/Reward operating models and continuous Improvement Plans with Strategic Suppliers as appropriate.
> Ensure value for money through the management of risk and cost by appropriate contracting methodology, terms and conditions and the use of appropriate procurement procedures.
> Provide leadership to support the Company in gaining competitive advantage through the development of value adding supply chain policies and processes in collaboration with our customers’.
> Develop robust and transparent Supply Chain Management Strategy, systems and processes to deliver best value and reduction of transaction costs and procurement costs.
> Provide guidance and support to Management on procurement matters.
> Comply with and ensure all security requirements are maintained; ensuring appropriate internal controls are implemented and monitored, and that accurate computer based and written records are safely kept.
> Liaise with the Commercial function and the Procurement function across the Group to assess and exploit synergies and achieve best practice.
Essential Qualifications/Experience
> UK National able to successfully obtain UK DV Security Clearance
> Procurement professional; MCIPS or equivalent experience
> Advanced experience of managing and developing a team and operating in a commercial environment
> Developing and implementing procurement strategy
> Budget Management
> Change management
> Customer management
> Developing supplier relationships in UK & experience of sub-contractor management
> Business/process improvement with good knowledge of Systems/IT management
> Excellent verbal and written communication skills
> Self motivated with ability to self manage
> Ability to push the boundaries to seek continuous Improvement and business solutions
> Able to work at both an operational and strategic level
We are offering a basic salary of up to £70k, plus a benefits package including Money Purchase Pension scheme, Family Healthcare, Bonus Scheme and flexible benefits.
