Important: Building Services Background

Introduction:

The principal function of this role is to design drainage (above and below ground), rainwater systems and water services installations with scope to lead and manage projects.

Job Specification:

The priorities of this role include:

• Preparing and verifying outline and detailed drainage and water services design drawings, supporting calculations and technical specifications
• Representing Halcrow Yolles at meetings with clients and contractors, including presenting ideas and solutions
• To lead and provide technical guidance to graduate engineers
• Carrying out site surveys and preparing feasibility reports
• Project managing a range of projects
• Project planning, costing and budgeting
• Working with other disciplines as part of a multi discipline team

The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge. These points should align with the key areas of responsibility:

• Experience in sustainable services design, including the production of scheme reports and detailed design packages, such as SUD’s and other ecological drainage systems.
• Experience of use and verification of the output from computer based tools such as Cymap, Hevacomp design software and NES specification software or similar
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
• Keen to lead and manage a team
• Work to project deadlines
• Team player
A HNC/HND or degree in Building Services / Mechanical engineering or equivalent is essential and CIBSE/IMechE membership or progress towards CEng status is desirable though not essential.
