Introduction:
A leading global provider of oilfield engineering services has an urgent vacancy for a Design Services Manager to be based in Aberdeen.
Job Specification:

Main Purpose:
The Design Services Manager’s main purpose involves overseeing the progress of design projects from contract award to issue of design deliverables.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide cost estimates for provision of design services.
-Responsible for the progress of project design elements, ie. planning and scheduling of procedures, calculations and drawings to meet project milestones.
- Identification of resource requirements and management of Design Teams.
- Ensure project elements are checked and reviewed according to QA procedures.
- Administration/operation of Engineering Drawing Office responsible for Draughtsmen, trainees and contract staff.
- Administration of Drawing Office systems, records and registers, including welding procedures / qualifications.
- Managing Drawing Office resources to ensure project milestones are attained.
- Recruitment, training, appraisal and discipline of Drawing Office staff.
- Liaison with Executive Director-Engineering and Team Leaders to ensure projects are progressing satisfactorily and milestones are met.
- The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that subordinates are helped to perform their jobs effectively and have the learning opportunities through which their abilities and potential can be developed.
- The incumbent must adopt a co-operative attitude towards being assigned alternative or additional duties to that which they are primarily employed.
Experience Required:
The candidate should have previous experience of managing a design team within the oil & gas industry
