Introduction:

Our Automotive Client are looking for a Principal Suspension Engineer to work within a project team to lead the design / package and test / development of the system from early concept through to production.

Job Specification:

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

- Maintain accurate programme status and report out to Management at the appropriate reviews.
- Control: Cost, Weight, Quality and Timing of the components within the system for each phase of build through to production.
- Control supplier inputs, whether system or component related.
- Ensure that the appropriate processes are implemented to support the programme. Le. GPDS, EFDVS, DFMEA, DVP & ESOW.
- Release the components via the customer's releasing system.
- Maintain an issue management tracker. Update issue status via the customer's system.
- Ensure that processes support the vehicle programme and company objectives such as relating to ISO 9000, QS9000, IS014001 and all company procedures.
- Ensure that test and development programmes meet the performance objectives and customer expectations.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Degree qualified or similar qualification
- Strong numeracy and literacy
- Core Requirements
- A minimum of five years automotive experience is essential
- Good logical reasoning
- Capable of leading a project with minimum supervision
- Effective team member contributing to improvements and high customer service
- Experienced and knowledgeable in electrical and mechanical power assisted steering systems. (HPAS, EPAS, EHPAS)
- Demonstrates depth of knowledge in the integration development and verification of vehicle Steering systems
- Demonstrates good general knowledge of vehicle chassis systems, with experience in component delivery.
- Demonstrates general knowledge and understanding of control systems, vehicle electronics, and vehicle networks / CAN systems
- Already chartered or working towards chartered status

OTHER:

- The current project is based in the Warwick office but international travel may be required to support the programme
- Further programmes will require between 25% and 50% of travel to India and other destinations depending on the project
