The Job
Job/Role Purpose
To ensure that Quality Control requirements on suppliers are identified, specified, resourced and implemented in an appropriate manner.
Key Accountabilities
To ensure that the contractual Quality Control requirements are achieved.
To ensure that Supplier’s Quality Control resource is competent.
Key Responsibilities
Involvement in the implementation of the programme Quality Management System during all project phases.
To liaise with the Design Houses. Contractors and the Supply Chain with respect to Quality Control requirements.
To ensure that Quality Control requirements are identified in a timely manner, specified accurately and responded to by the Supply Chain in an appropriate manner.
To ensure that the Supply Chain provide appropriate Inspection and Test Plans.
To ensure that Inspection and Test documentation is appropriately specified, produced, reviewed and retained.
Management of corrective actions or non-conformance emanating from the QC programme.
Liaison with project team members.
Qualifications
Preferred member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
Qualified or approved in a construction related activity, electrical, mechanical, civil, C&l etc.
Experience
Proven experience in the Building Services / M&E industry, oil & gas, petro-chemical industry or nuclear experience would also be an advantage.
Has had previous experience and has recently been employed or involved in a quality role.
Skills
Ability to communicate during all stages of the project, in both oral and written language.
Must be comfortable with own judgement.
Self starter
Ability to liaise at all levels, Director to shop floor.
Behaviours
To work within the Quality Assurance & Control group to influence, exchange issues and successes with the group, and to collectively review learn and improve the process to enhance performance within the Business Area.
To always be willing to provide assistance and guidance to others in all aspects of quality control.
Special Requirements
There is an immediate and ongoing need for this role to fulfil activities requiring SC clearance
