Pipeline Engineer

Our client is a leading services provider to the Global Energy Industry, they are now looking for a permanent pipeline engineer to join their expanding team

The Job

Discipline Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct assigned engineering and project tasks under supervision
• Proactively solicit the knowledge and gain the experience to conduct project and engineering tasks with the minimum of supervision, but understanding the need to seek out guidance and advice from peers
• Liaise with project engineers and proactively engage with project team personnel to meet project targets
• Demonstrate a professional attitude to engineering and project assignments

Principal Objectives:
• To conduct project assignments, under supervision, with an appreciation of the budget and schedule targets
• To gain a broad based knowledge of engineering experience, working towards a professional level under supervision

Technical Skills:
Analysis and design including:
• Minimum 5 years experience with a minimum of 3 years involving offshore pipeline design.
• Competent in subsea pipeline design including, UHB, spoolpiece and riser FE analyses.
• Knowledge of manifold piping design.
• Knowledge of materials, coatings and corrosion mitigation.
• Conversant with offshore pipeline installation methods and tie-in’s, including precommissioning activities.
• Conversant with relevant codes and standards.
• Working knowledge of CAESAR and MathCAD.
• Working knowledge of SAGE Profile preferred, however not essential.
• Working knowledge of ABAQUS preferred, however not essential.

Experience Required:
• Post-graduate experience

Qualifications & Education:
• BSc/BEng or equivalent in engineering subject or proven specialist experience
• Training towards Chartered Engineer status

Personnel Skills:
• Display a proactive approach to HSE and have full awareness of the company’s HSE Management system
• Ensure that all work complies with the company’s business management system
• Display effective communication with other team members
• Ensure proper electronic storage of all project documentation
• Support project controllers in the management of documents and project correspondence
• Ensure that local work area is tidy
