Introduction

Our client is a major contract manufacturer of pharmaceutical products and they are looking for a QP to head up their quality department. You will also be managing a team of 10 and they will provide training for those lacking in man management experience.

Important

Must be a fully qualified QP and ideally have man management experience

The Job

The Head of Quality Department maintains responsibility for the planning, implementation and control of quality at the site to ensure continuous improvement of activities, processes, products and services. The Head of Quality Department will also be named on MHRA UK/EU licences for the final sign off and release of products for sale to customers.

Accountabilities
Effective management of the quality function via;
Fully responsible for the management of the Quality Management System (QMS).

As lead site Qualified Person (QP) ensure duties are executed as defined in 2001/83/EC and the Code of Practice as laid down by the Joint Professional Bodies, this includes the management of contract QP’s.

Primary point of contact for all site and product regulatory matters including communication with regulatory authorities and customer contacts.

100% completion of business aligned performance management reviews and target setting for team members.

Succession planning and career development in place for team members.

Co-operative working with all departments across site in order to meet business objectives.

Effective coaching and delegating appropriately to develop team members.

Actively encouraging and Entrepreneurialism and idea generation within the team to ensure continuous improvement.

Addressing poor performance effectively in line with current company policies.

Ensure all relevant guidelines are adhered to and provide technical support to other functions regard guidelines.

Recruitment of new staff and disciplinary /dismissal issues.
