The Job
Job/Role Purpose
As part of the Project Delivery team, to act as a Project Engineer, supporting Package Project Managers in all aspects of project delivery.
This role involves working as part of a large DMP re-kit project (circa £250M) in an operational production facility. The work will involve assisting the Project Manager to manage modifications and upgrades to existing pieces of production equipment to agreed timeframes. The successful candidate will be working in a small sub team for the Project Manager on work up to the value of circa £5M, and will be expected to assist in delivery to the agreed schedule, budget and quality constraints. The package(s) would span the complete delivery lifecycle from definition through design, implementation and handover.
Key Accountabilities
For ensuring delivery of SQESH performance in accordance with the requirements of SQESH policy and SQESH management systems within all areas of this role’s responsibility
Delivery of assigned project tasks and activities to Package Project Managers direction within agreed schedule and budget in accordance with the standards and regulatory requirements in a safe, clean and secure manner
Key Responsibilities
To ensure application of the Company’s Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
To deliver, to the Package Project Manager, individual tasks and activities and associated deliverables to meet safety, quality, programme and cost objectives, and the use of the defined project management arrangements within the DMP Integrated Management System
For co-ordinating with the facility the implementation of discreet areas of work
Qualifications
A good general level of education
Membership of appropriate Professional Body is desirable
Knowledge
Demonstrable excellent communication skills are a pre-requisite. The ability to communicate at all levels is desirable
A good knowledge of the SQESH issues relating to a project environment
Experience
Preferably experience of working at radiologically designated facilities
Preferably experience of working as part of a project team
Experience of working within a delivery environment to agreed timescales
Experience of integration of multiple inter-dependent project deliverables spanning several disciplines is desirable
Skills
Ability to use Microsoft Office and associated software
Interpersonal skills with the ability to work constructively with people of all levels and disciplines.
Good oral and written skills including ability to produce high standard safety documentation.
Ability to plan, manage and schedule work.
