Our client now has an immediate requirement for a permanent experienced mud/ fluid engineer to join their team. This is an offshore position and candidates must have previous experience in a similar role

The Role
Drilling Fluids Engineer, the allocated job capsule will be dependent on the candidate.

Location
Offshore in the UK. As work is performed on a rotational basis, candidates can live in any location in the UK.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Under broad direction, provides well site service to customers of Baroid. Utilizes knowledge of company products and services in conjunction with experience in drilling fluid technology to optimize service quality.

• Maintains current knowledge of all products applicable to work location.
• Performs chemical and physical testing of drilling and completion fluids
• Communicates recommendations and potential issues to well site personnel, onshore supervisor and relief.
• Ensures the well is supplied with products and services in a timely manner through the use of good logistical planning.
• Maintains accurate inventory records.
• Understands and completes tasks related to environmental compliance.
• Completes reports and performs calculations using Baroid’s software suite.
• Performs equipment calibrations as required.
• Completes post-well evaluation reports.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent
• Driving license advantageous
• Proven track record of running drilling fluids in an offshore environment essential
• Proven performance in UK North Sea operations preferred
• HPHT drilling fluids experience beneficial
