Introduction
Fantastic opportunity to perform a critical role in an exciting and extremely worthwhile organisation. Key skills required: Microsoft Server / Client operating systems (ideally MCP or MCITP ). Experience with Cisco networking desirable.
Important
Windows Server Operating Systems, Cisco Networks
The Job
Working as part of a service specialist team, the post holder will be responsible for support and maintenance of the clients server infrastructure. It will be a given that you are strong on the server side (ideally to Server 2008R2 ). Skills with Cisco networking would be desirable, although are by no means a must have and if this is an area in which you are lacking full training will be given (you will be working closely with CCNA / CCNP level network professionals).
You will assist in the management of the Infrastructure across a number of locations, ensuring service continuity and system security for business critical systems. This includes reconfiguring, developing and updating existing systems using research methodology. For example, constant testing of equipment and regularly adapting the equipment / topology to meet new requirements, to maintain the operational effectiveness of the clients infrastructure.
You will research, propose and manage policy and service changes, advise, recommend and initiate solutions. This will involve developing solutions to improve services, reduce costs, ensuring business continuity across the Trusts clinical and non-clinical services.
You will organise and prioritise your own workload, to include coordinating junior Technicians in the fulfilment of daily and project work. The post holder will have experience of working within large scale projects, and have an awareness of ITIL practices. Where appropriate you will train junior Technicians, support the Network and Server Specialists, and possess the ability to confidently step into the role of either as required.
This really is a great opportunity for the right candidate to work in a highly supportive environment and make a difference. If you possess the Windows Server skills, the Cisco networking skills (or a desire to learn these quickly!), and the competence to prioritise your own work and manage yourself then please apply now!
To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK
