The Job
The principal focus will be the installation and configuration of OSIsoft and Microsoft products at customer premises and for in-house development activities. There will be an opportunity to work with technologies such as Microsoft Office Systems including SharePoint, SQL Server, Reporting Services and Excel Services. In addition the role will require use of Visual Studio and .NET This role will involve many of the aspects of systems integration, software development, customer support and consultancy.
Role Description:
• Installation and configuration of software products from Microsoft and OSIsoft.
• Engage in software development, testing, documentation and support of projects of varying complexity in the Real-time Business Intelligence sector.
• Provide advice and guidance in optimizing the use of the OSIsoft suite of software
• To be a member of a small team delivering high quality solutions.
• Provide software support to clients.
• Periodically deliver standard or customized training on OSIsoft products.
• Adhere to recognized software lifecycles and quality standards.
• Based primarily in Gloucester but requiring travel to client sites throughout the UK.
• Research and develop our approach to new software products and technologies that further enhance our client offerings.
Essential Skills:
• Relevant software/technical/IT/computer science qualification.
• Knowledge of current computer Hardware, Operating Systems and Networking
• Demonstrable post-qualification experience of relevant technologies:
o OSIsoft products
AND
o Experience of some, or all, of: Portals, SQL Server Reporting Services, Sharepoint, writing new WebParts, Excel Services, Visual Studio, .NET
• Ability to work independently, manage time targets and report on progress.
• You will have excellent verbal and written communications and reasoning skills.
• A current UK driving licence.
Desirable Requirements:
• Experience within Process Control, Power, Generation, Utilities, or Oil and Gas industries.
• Experience within a software support and development environment.
