Introduction

An exciting opportunity exists for a graduate engineer to join our Aerospace Seating client to train as an Electrical Design Engineer.

The Job

Once you have completed your training programme / period (typically 18-24 months), you will be able to perform the following role.

Role Purpose:
• Installation Design of Electrical Systems incorporated within a range of Aircraft Seating Programmes, including electro-mechanical Actuation, In-Flight Entertainment, Airbag, Grounding, Emergency Egress and Mood Lighting Systems.
• Installation Design in accordance with Aircraft Manufacturers' and System Suppliers' Guidelines, as well as in-house Technical Documents for detail components.
• Liaise direct with Suppliers, Customers and in-house disciplines to acquire/provide accurate Electrical Design information and support Project Priorities.
• Both 3D and 2D CAD capability utilising Catia V5 and Smarteam Integration.
• Creation/Modification of Electrical Drawings, Schematics, Design Notes, ECRs, TCRs and Technical Forms.

Responsibilities:
- Familiarise and maintain knowledge of Seat Electrical compliance requirements, System Suppliers' Installation Guidelines, and Design Office Standards.
- Design in 3D utilising Catia V5 Electrical Harness Workbench.
- Creating/Modifying Design Notes, ECRs, TCRs, Installation Drawings, and Block Diagrams.
- Document and communicate the above by means of Schematics, Reports, 2D drawings, 3D Models and PDFs etc.
- Liaise direct with Suppliers, Aircraft Manufactures, and Customers, as well as in-house inter-department support, which may involve off-site travel.

Experience:

Essential
• An engineering degree or HND or HNC in a discipline relevant to Aeronautical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience of working in a design and manufacturing environment of Electrical Systems.
• Previous experience of designing in 3D the Installation of Electrical Systems.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills, and work well on own initiative.
• Must be flexible and have the ability to adapt and respond to changing work demands whilst working under pressure.
• PC literate - especially Microsoft Office Applications, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Highly Desirable
• Catia V5 experience.
• Experience, knowledge and understanding of Aerospace Electrical Systems Installation Design.
• The ability to analyse problems and recommend a course of action and/or provide innovative solutions.
