Software Engineer - Embedded Linux Virtualization

Working for a global leader in the telecoms we require a senior/principle level engineer to assist in the development of the virtualization system used in the clients mobile devices. You must have expertise in virtualization and BSP level Linux experience

The Job

Responsibilities Include

• Have technical responsibility for virtualization architectures in Mobile products, carrying out any assigned work without technical supervision.

• Responsibility for input to virtualization roadmap for mobile products. Perform feasibility studies, high level designs, and prototype activities typical of the incubation stages of development projects.

• Carry out detailed interpretation of architectural documentation, product requirements, and technical marketing information.

• Develop areas of functionality and technology towards the virtualization requirements of the clients Platform projects for mobile devices.

Skills and experience

1. A degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Natural Science, Mathematics, Engineering or any related discipline (an equivalent period of industrial experience may be substituted).

2. Expertise in virtualization with experience in design and development of systems incorporating a hypervisor with multiple Operating Systems.

3. Knowledge and experience of ARM processors and low-level Linux kernel development.

4. A proven track record in real time embedded software development preferably for mobile devices with an understanding of the embedded development environments and associated development restrictions.

5. Proficiency in C and an understanding of C++ or Java programming languages.

6. A good understanding of documentation requirements and able to able to clearly present complex ideas and technical designs.
