The Job
My client is actively looking for two Control Systems Engineers to join their busy team based in the East Midlands, offering the opportunity to work in a range of sectors including Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical and Food & Drink.
In this role you will have responsibility for the activities associated with a project from conceptual design through to commissioning. Design, software programming, testing, commissioning and documentation to meet the customer’s requirements and the specific contract specifications.
You’ll be liaising with other staff members, the client and other consultants/sub-contractors involved in the project. Monitoring the costs on the specific projects with a view to maximising profitability, also attending regular Contract Reviews with your Project Manager and other team members ensuring the smooth running of the scheme.
The chosen applicant will have demonstrable experience of programming PLC and SCADA software systems across a wide range of systems including amongst others;
* Mitsubishi (Q series PLC, GX IEC Developer and E designer)
* Rockwell (RS FactoryTalk View, CompactLogix PLC, ControlLogix PLC, RS Logix 5/500/5000)
* Siemens (S5, S7, WinCC)
* Industrial networking technologies including Ethernet, Profibus, and DeviceNet
* Wonderware InTouch (ArchestrA)
Candidates should be Degree or ONC qualified in an Electrical Engineering (or similar) subject and a proven track record in PLC, HMI & SCADA programming. Skills accredited or working towards an approved vendor certification such as for Rockwell, Siemens or Mitsubishi Certified Engineer is also highly desirable.
Effective communication skills are a must, as is flexibility on commuting to the various client sites as necessary. An appreciation of IEC1131 specifications and programming techniques, and an understanding of ISO9001: 2001 TickIT and associated methodologies and procedures are sought after. You may be working to tight deadlines, on multiple projects and with potentially difficult customers – so the ability to work in a pressurised environment at times is required.
Home working is possible for this role so long as the candidate can be available for meetings as required in the Nottingham office.
