Principle Bridge Engineer

Introduction

A Principal Bridge Engineer is required to join an established bridge engineering team based in Leeds. In particular, we are seeking a candidate with bridge design experience to help balance the existing team skills.

The Job

The team is busy with highway and rail bridge engineering work for a variety of clients, including local authorities, private developers and public sector clients.
Current work includes bridge inspection and assessment, feasibility studies, and design.

The candidate will be expected manage a small team of engineers and technicians, working alongside existing colleagues. The current workload is very good, and the role will offer plenty of scope to develop.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be accountable to an Associate Director.

The main requirements of the role include:
• Providing technical lead to less experienced members of the team
• Bring experience of bridge design
• Supervise production of technical reports
• Lead bridge assessments
• Manage inspection work
• Responsibility for financial and project management
• Assist with business development and bid preparation
Requirements
BSc(Hons) or BEng(Hons) in Civil and/or Structural Engineering

Charted Engineer status (MICE and/or MIStructE).

Solid experience in bridge design and ideally experience in a similar role.

You will ideally have experience in managing a team.

Candidates with a higher degree will be especially welcome.
