Job description

The role

Typically your design capabilities will be developed by the creation and definition of:
Structural design layouts, structural components design, equipment integration; taking account of airframe materials selection, product technology developments, metallic manufacturing processes, 2D drawing creation.

A systematic design approach is adopted as the structural design evolves through preliminary definition to detail design and through-life, utilising best-practice methods and standards. A key aspect of the roles is to demonstrate compliance with functional requirements, including zonal safety analysis in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team environment.

  • Working closely with other engineering disciplines and functions, supplier and customer areas, fostering a team-working and collaborative product development environment

  • Verifying design data prior to a formal independent check criteria to ensure compliance
  • Producing and issuing Airframe engineering design data to meet project requirements, in line with design standards, whilst maintaining quality, cost and schedule adherence

  • Evaluating and resolving design queries, and supporting the generation of resulting modifications and changes

Key Skills Required

  • Experience in an Airframe Design role, or equivalent 'near-neighbour' disciplines
  • Degree or HNC/HND or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of operating in an airframe design role, or equivalent in one or more phases of the product lifecycle

  • Proficiency in CATIA V5

This role will require you to hold or be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC). You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period. The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.
