Senior Engineer - Tuddenham

Introduction

Senior Engineer - Highways
Location - Tuddenham
Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join their Highways team in Tuddenham. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on infrastructure projects and frameworks, taking full responsibility for setting out, engineering control, and quality. As a Senior Engineer, you will also coordinate and mentor the site engineering team, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
• Assist the Site Agent in planning and coordinating the project and resources.
• Coordinate subcontractors to ensure they achieve programme outputs.
• Write, review, and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Write, review, and implement Inspection Test Plans (ITP's).
• Ensure works are carried out as per ITP's including correct engineering checks, hold points, inspections, and tests.
• Manage the site engineering team, delegate tasks, train & mentor junior engineers, and lead by example.
• Control and update programmes/attend coordination meetings and daily/2-week/monthly and 3 monthly lookaheads as required.

Job Requirements

• Ability to work safely.
• Read & Interpret data and drawings.
• Advanced setting out techniques and able to use Level and EDM with knowledge of GPS preferred.
• Relevant Civil Engineering experience (Highways, Rail, water or aviation).
• Proven leadership and delegation skills.
• Flexible attitude to work.
• Problem-solving skills
• NVQ Level 3 or higher.
• SMSTS.
• Relevant CSCS card.
• Office 365 expertise/CAD.

About You

Our client is looking for a candidate who has experience in relevant Civil Engineering sectors such as Highways, Rail, water, or aviation. You should have the ability to work safely, interpret data and drawings, and possess advanced setting out techniques. Leadership and delegation skills are essential for this role, as well as a flexible attitude towards work. Strong problem-solving skills and relevant qualifications, such as a NVQ Level 3 or higher, SMSTS, and a relevant CSCS card, are also required. Proficiency in Office 365 and CAD will be advantageous for this position.
