LA currently seeking a skilled Building Control Surveyor to join their team. As a local authority, they play a crucial role in ensuring that buildings in Oxford meet safety and compliance standards. About the Role
As a Building Control Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting inspections and plan checks for both domestic and commercial properties. Your main objective will be to ensure that all buildings within the city meet the necessary health, safety, and accessibility regulations. This is a contract position, and hybrid working arrangements are available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting inspections of construction projects to verify compliance with building regulations
- Assessing plans and specifications to ensure they meet statutory requirements
- Providing guidance and advice to architects, developers, and contractors
- Issuing notices and enforcement action when necessary
- Maintaining accurate records and producing reports
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in Building Control
- Registered as Class 2 or on route to being registered Class 2
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and building regulations
- Ability to assess plans and drawings accurately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
