Thermal Engineer

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled Thermal Engineer to join their team. This is a contract position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a site audit to evaluate the potential installation of heat pumps for heating loads that are distant from the steam network. You will need to have a strong understanding of energy flows and be able to analyze and optimize input/output/loss energy flows. The scope of the role includes identifying surplus energy flows, utilizing and reducing energy flows, creating interconnection curves, and determining the pinch point. Additionally, you will assess the technical and economic feasibility of implementing suitable technologies. After initial site audit, can work remote from U.K.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a site audit to identify and analyze energy flows
• Identify surplus energy flows with available energy levels
• Optimize input if necessary and utilize surplus output
• Reduce input and loss by utilizing identified flows
• Create interconnection curves and determine the pinch point
• Assess the technical and economic feasibility of suitable technologies

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in thermal engineering
• Strong understanding of energy flows
• Ability to analyze and optimize energy flows
• Knowledge of heat pumps and their application
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
