Materials jobs can include roles in welding, inspection, engineering critical assessment, corrosion and integrity. Materials Engineers select and specify materials used during design stages for projects within the Oil & Gas industry to ensure a safe and practical design.

Normally from a mechanical or materials background they will provide technical support to engineering, supply chain management and quality departments. Duties will include vendor selection, products specification, supply management, approval of fabrication methods in accordance with project / international specifications, approvals of vendor & subcontractor documentation and material / welding qualifications.
