Matchtech Group make a Marathon effort for charity

Matchtech Group staff are running to raise money

Matchtech Group employees have been training since the dark evenings and cold mornings before Christmas to prepare themselves for the very long road head (26.2 miles).

On the 17th April six members of staff; Tim Carling, Oliver Mulgrew, Emma Kitchener , Matt Wragg, Grahame Carter and Ashton Church will be taking part along with 38,000 others in what has been said to be one of the most challenging events in the world, The London Marathon.

They will be raising money for the following charities:

  • Arthritis Care
  • Age UK
  • NSPCC
  • Samaritans
  • VICTA (Visually Impaired Children Taking Action)

Matchtech Group actively encourages it’s employees to participate in activities and to fundraise for a charitable cause of which they are passionate about and this is just one example of how Matchtech employees are able to contribute to a cause with the support of their employer.
As a company Matchtech are committed to providing support to the community and society through a number of charitable activities. Matchtech is a corporate member of the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, the Group organise regular volunteering days where members of staff take part in practical conservation work to help manage sites for the benefit of wildlife and the local community.

Tora Poole, Matchtech Group Charity Committee member said; “We support our employees’ involvement in the Marathon 100% and we have shown this by donating £600 to the charities they are running for. This is a great example of the commitment of our staff to giving something back.“
