Important: Previous experience in a Senior Role as a Piping Designer
Introduction:
Our client, a leading Oil and Gas company is looking for an experienced Senior Piping Designer to work in South Africa on a 12 month contract
Job Specification:
Requirements
Proven experience/knowledge/application of 3D PDS (Intergraph) or similar CAD system and its associated functions
Display a level of competency, knowledge and experience of developing, engineering and designing piping systems in association with project standards and industry practices
Develop, from first principles/information, the generation of piping system concepts
Develop critical piping system in conjunction with the Lead Piping Engineer
Co-ordination of all design activity related piping concepts
Able to understand and develop Plot/Equipment Layout concepts, review, check and advice direction
Responsible for the maintenance and quality of Equipment/Piping Layout designs
An ability to select and adequately support piping systems from a standard library of Pipe Supports
Generation of Technical Work Practices and Design Instructions associated with Piping Design issues
Assist the Lead Piping Engineer in areas related to Piping Design productivity/progress
Plan and Monitor work fronts in designated/assigned areas
Able to accept and undertake responsibility
Demonstrate an acceptable knowledge of piping bulk materials and basic principals of piping flexibility
Able to undertake, supervise and control bulk material activities
Co-ordinate and action interface information between Piping, Civil, Instrument Disciplines and Vendors/Suppliers
An awareness and understanding of Local, National and International Standards as applied to piping design
Review vendor package and equipment drawings for compliance with the project specifications
