Job Specification:
Highly successful and expanding corporate in Surrey (near Woking) require a candidate ideally from a consultancy background.
The company is a consulting and business services group in the Built Environment sector. Last year revenue has grown by 46% to £650m and profit by 20% to £38.8m. The company's order books are valued at £2.2bn a significant proportion is public sector which enables career opportunities and stability in uncertain economic conditions. The company is based in Byfleet Surrey with the offices being located immediately next door to a train station that can be reached within 30 mins from London Waterloo.
The role is to effective act as "Head of IT" to one of the company's largest business divisions. By capturing high level requirements and managing a programme of work, you will ensure that IT is delivering both software and infrastructure IT solutions that is demanded by the large scale public sector and civil contract wins.
Specifically your responsibilities will be:
Managing the relationship between the division, central IT and 3rd party suppliers to ensure the IT service meets the divisions business requirements
Ensuring that IT is delivering development, support and operational services to support the enterprise strategy
Maximise value from the IT investment
Programme managing all the IT projects into the division
Key experience and competencies that are required are:
Ability to consult
Relationship management
Definition of IT strategy
Programme / Project Management (Prince 2)
Commercial awareness - a key aspect of the role is to input into tenders, manage 3rd party suppliers and engage with clients
The role could suit candidates who have come from a consulting background but want a more stable work life balance. Or candidates that have been in internal positions such as Head of IT or Senior Business Analysis or Programme Management.
