The Scada (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) engineer is heavily software biased due to the nature/function of the system and is likely to combine a blend of Scada automation skills with higher level software ability (i.e. C++, Visual Basic and Database applications). The Scada system collates and manages the function information being fed back from the control system, displaying data via an HMI (Human Machine Interface). Some Scada jobs require individuals to remain dedicated solely to this skill but many vacancies require the skill blended with a PLC ability.
