Job description
This permanent position involves working day shifts. This role is ideal for an experienced time-served mechanical fitter or production aircraft fitter with a comprehensive understanding of fitting in the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and Production Acceptance Testing (PAT) of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) adhering to agreed engineering methods and processes
- Maintaining compliance by ensuring adherence to quality procedures and defined processes
- Identifying and driving productivity and performance improvement opportunities to support cost reductions
- Implementing lean manufacturing processes in collaboration with the team
- Contributing to the continuous development of safety, health, and environmental requirements within the team's work area
- Supporting and advancing personal development needs to ensure task flexibility
- Conducting annual and interim Performance Development Reviews (PDR) with the Production Supervisor
- Escalating issues to the Production Supervisor in a timely manner
Job Requirements:
- Experience in fitting, preferably within the aerospace sector
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship or possess equivalent experience within the skill group
- Extensive experience in fault finding related to production acceptance testing
- Beneficial experience in fuel systems, mechanical and structural components
- Wide skill base within a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environment
- Understanding of lean manufacturing processes
