Job description
Our client, a prominent player in the rail communications industry, is currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer specialising in CCTV, PA, CIS, and Access Control systems. This contract role, based in Glasgow is focused on commissioning and configuring systems within the rail sector, ensuring they integrate seamlessly into networked building and station management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning and configuring CCTV, PA, CIS, and Access Control systems
- Testing and commissioning of all relevant systems and assets
- Ensuring the integration of systems into the head-end networked building/station management system
- Conducting assessments and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the commissioning process
- Collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure system functionality and reliability
- Documenting all commissioning activities and providing detailed reports
- Performing work predominantly during night shifts
Job Requirements:
- Experience in rail communications
- Commissioning experience of CCTV, PA, CIS systems
- Proficiency in access control systems and their integration into broader network systems
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a night shift schedule
- Background in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field is advantageous
