Job description
BAE Systems, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Principal Design Electrical Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role is crucial for supporting the Atmospheric Research Aircraft (ARA) Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) Project. The position is based in Prestwick with hybrid working arrangements of 2-3 days on-site per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support to the Atmospheric Research Aircraft (ARA) Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) Project
- Develop a range of aircraft modifications to facilitate ARA MLU
- Liaise with third-party design organisations
- Compile, check, and approve engineering drawings
- Potential to take on the responsibility of a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) role, subject to CVE approval by Management
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in electrical design standards and techniques
- Experience as an Electrical Designer in the Defence sector
- BAE146 / AVRO RJ experience is beneficial
- Understanding of engineering principles within the Defence and Security industry
