Job description
The Opportunity: Drive and manage MEICA elements of various wastewater projects. Assist in Tender submissions, manage Subcontractors and Designers, and contribute to project delivery, ensuring programme and budget constraints are met. Safety and Quality are paramount, with responsibility for inspections and testing.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Pre-Construction Team on Tenders.
- Review Client scope documents and work with Design team.
- Manage subcontracts and material orders.
- Interpret discipline-related drawings.
- Vet subcontractors and inspect production, quality, and installation.
- Support project programming and planning.
- Maintain quality assurance records.
- Review subcontractor designs for buildability, operation, and maintenance.
- Support production of operating and maintenance manuals.
- Attend site progress meetings and produce reports.
- Coordinate MEICA works to support design progress.
- Inspect equipment at factory and on-site.
- Advise Quantity Surveyors on specification changes and financial impact.
- Provide technical assistance regarding contractual disputes.
- Liaise with clients and handle correspondence.
- Resolve snagging and maintenance repairs during the defect's liability period.
- Supervise sub-contractors during critical activities.
- Support site commissioning if required.
- Provide as-built and close-out documentation.
Requirements:
- Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Qualification.
- Diploma/Degree Qualification preferred.
- Experience in a contractor-based background within the water industry.
- Understanding of NEC4 condition contract and budget control is desirable.
- Self-motivated with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Capable of supervising site staff if required.
- Knowledgeable in project engineer/management techniques for water/sewage treatment works.
