MLM Group is part of the team working with civil engineering contractor, BAM Nuttall, for the first stage of completing Lowestoft’s Lake Lothing Third Crossing.

MLM will be working with the design team, with a focus on upgrading and reshaping the highways and drainage infrastructure works to connect the existing highway network to the new bridge.

The overall project will see the creation of a third road crossing over Lake Lothing, which divides the north and south of Lowestoft. It is estimated to cost £91.7m, with approximately £73m coming from the Department for Transport.

The Lake Lothing Third Crossing project aims to save journey times, reduce travel costs, improve business productivity and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists. It aspires to open up opportunities for regeneration and development in the town.

The contract for the first stage of the project is to finalise the design of the crossing, ready for building. It was awarded following a competitive tender process by Suffolk County Council. The award for the construction stage of the contract is scheduled to be announced in autumn 2019.

Ashford office move to Connect 38

About MLM group engineering jobs

MLM Group have moved their Ashford office to Connect 38 on the Ashford Commercial Quarter site.

MLM Ashford’s previous office at Eureka Park opened in 2007 with 17 employees. Due to continued expansion in the local area over the last decade, they have relocated to a much larger office space to house its 51 employees.

Connect 38, opened in June 2018, is a landmark building. It’s reported to be the largest office block to be built in Kent for 20 years and the key building for an ongoing development of what will become a 600,000 square feet office and retail campus.
MLM is among the first tenants of Connect 38, located next to Ashford International Rail Station, which offers high speed services to London and Europe.

Commenting on the move, Director Toby Crayden:

“We are excited about the move to our new premises. One of the great benefits of moving is that we can now provide a more comfortable working space for our expanding team and develop our growing client base in the heart of Kent and beyond.  The larger office space offers an improved environment for training and meetings, and we are located right next to the train station, with access to the High Speed services into London.”
