The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) will procure and project manage the construction of future Royal Navy submarines and support those in-service, working with Navy Command and the newly-established Defence Nuclear Organisation.

The SDA is a new executive agency of the Ministry of Defence (MOD), established solely for the procurement, in-service support and disposal of submarines. They operate alongside Defence Equipment and Support to keep safe and reliable submarines at sea today and in the future – delivering capabilities to the Royal Navy that are essential for our defence. 

Today there are over 1300 people, both civilian and military, in professional acquisition functions for the SDA, such as project management, project controls, finance, commercial and engineering.

The SDA’s primary location is in Bristol; however, they also operate alongside the Royal Navy and their key suppliers: BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce and Babcock Marine. Internationally, they work in the US with the Department of Defense and US Navy.
