West Yorkshire Combined Authority
The West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) has identified a transformational package of transport investments, including road, bus, rail and integrated schemes, costing circa £1.4 billion to be delivered over the next 10 years.
These packages of work are designed to open up access to new development sites, support the growth of existing centres, enhance the connectivity between centres and improve access to employment from all districts. The Transport Fund is the result of collaboration between WYCA, and its constituent district partners of Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield, in conjunction with York; Highways England; and Network Rail.
Working in partnership
Funding has been committed from the Local Growth Fund to deliver the first phase of the Transport Fund programme by 2021. A circa £500m investment programme has been endorsed and a range of projects are progressing through the development and delivery framework and good progress is being made with the delivery of Transport Fund projects (for example the Wakefield Eastern Relief Road and Temple Green Park and Ride have opened this year). While WYCA has an excellent great track record of delivery, they are looking for skilled, enthusiastic and dynamic people to help them deliver the rest of their programme by 2021, and beyond.
Matchtech is working exclusively with WYCA as their recruitment partner to find talented engineers for a range of permanent positions and it is only via Matchtech that you can apply for these positions.
We are looking for people who can help the WYCA team to realise their ambitions and help deliver sustainable economic growth for the benefit of residents, business and visitors to the area.
Specifically, we are looking for people across the following disciplines:
- Highway Engineers

- Project Managers
Successful applicants could be allocated to a variety of projects or support functions. These allocations will be based on matching the requirements of the task to be undertaken and the circumstances and experience of the successful candidates.
