Job description

What you will do


As a Principal Service Cloud Software Developer, you will:

  • join a creative team developing solutions to transform the business as it digitally enables our products
  • solve complex engineering problems
  • implement robust and reusable designs
  • troubleshoot system software issues
  • analyse, monitor and improve efficiency and stability of systems
  • review code and feedback best-practice improvements
  • actively contribute to sharing knowledge and developing others
  • produce detailed documentation to comply with company processes and industry standards
  • plan and estimate development tasks and report status engineering and project management

What we are looking for

  • Degree qualified in relevant science and technology area (Comp Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Physics)
  • Experience operating in a professional engineering environment
  • Embedded software development skills (C++ or otherwise)
  • Experience applying best OO software engineering architectural Principals (e.g SOLID)
  • Experience operating in a team
  • Able to elicit clear requirements from stakeholders
  • Clear verbal and written technical communication skills to colleagues and management
  • Knowledge of information security and cyber principals in software engineering. This could be:
  • Implementing secure coding practices and threat modelling
  • Usage of RBAC, IAM and NAC principals for client server access
  • Utilization of containerisation techniques for security (e.g. Docker)
  • Experience of using P2P and associated encryption technologies such as TLS1.3
  • Experience in developing secure service meshes, performing encryption and access control across peer networks
  • Knowledge of devOps practices, principals of flow and usage of pipeline technologies (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Experience in integration with cloud vendors (AWS, GCP, MA) and typical cloud side architectures (Kubernetes, ingress gateways, docker)
  • Understanding of data mesh principals and zero-trust
  • Development for RTOS target environment
