Job description

Principal Cloud Platform Engineer job role ( Fully remote ), joining an existing Cloud Platform Engineering team for this nationally operating business. This job role has been created at a time of real transformation as the business embarks on a strategic move to AWS.

This is a visible hire within the team and will partner with management providing strategic insights and direction, whilst being hands as they move forward on their journey in AWS. You will possess experience provisioning, operating and managing AWS environments, experience of Landing Zones, Control Tower/Account Vending, Account Baselining and Policies/Guard Rails is ideal.

You will possess deep commercial experience and technical skills in the following:

• DevOps Engineer tools / methodologies to include Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, IAC
• Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment.
• Strong networking and cloud networking background.
• Experience building sophisticated and highly automated infrastructure.
• Prior success in automating a real-world production environment.
• Experience with configuration management tooling such as Ansible
• Strong scripting skills, i.e., Powershell, Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, etc.

You will be comfortable working cross functionally and possess excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Reporting into but working with a truly engaging and impressive Manager, you will be given the autonomy to showcase your skills in a busy environment utilising a modern tech stack.
