Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the contractor adheres to the contract specification, testing, and certification requirements.
- Observing the contractor's operations for compliance and recording daily ongoing works.
- Inspecting works and collaborating with contractors to correct defective works.
- Agreeing and recording defective works on the site quality systems.
- Suggesting improvements to the supervisor.
- Monitoring health and safety aspects of the contractor's operations.
- Attending meetings as requested by the supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Significant practical work experience within the highways or bridge sector.
- Trade qualification or HNC in civil or building-related discipline.
- Familiarity with the MCHW and associated testing and inspection protocols.
- Ability to read drawings and specifications and understand key testing points.
- Driving licence.
- CSCS card.
- NRSWA supervisor for highways inspection.
Competencies & Behaviours:
- Ability to liaise confidently with the contractor on testing and inspection matters.
- Teamwork skills and willingness to request support when necessary.
- Proactive in issue resolution.
- Diligent and logical in problem-solving and record-keeping.
- Confidently address unsafe health and safety practices.
- Good communication skills for a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent record management skills, including using app-based products.
- Competency in office software and data capture devices and apps.
